Jamaica Tourist Board Partners With Jamaica’s First Rallycross Champion

Team Frazzz’s Fraser McConnell will compete in Nordic and Nitro Series

The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) has partnered with Team Frazzz Racing for the upcoming Rallycross Nordic and Nitro Series taking place from June to December 2021. As part of the partnership, JTB’s official branding will appear on the race car of up-and-coming driver Fraser McConnell, 22, who made history in 2017 as Jamaica’s first-ever Rallycross champion.

“Fraser is a world-class driver who has been a wonderful ambassador for Jamaica throughout his rise to the top of his profession,” said Jamaica’s Director of Tourism Donovan White. “This partnership is a natural fit for the Jamaica Tourist Board because Fraser is a dynamic, young competitor, who will help increase our exposure among racing fans as rallycross continues to grow in its popularity as a sport.”

McConnell, a native of Bog Walk, in the parish of St Catherine, began his career in motocross, karting and rallying, with his early success twice earning him the “Jamaican Driver of the Year” accolade before he discovered the discipline of rallycross on YouTube. McConnell has had immediate success with his step up to the rallycross circuit, twice finishing on the podium in 2019 including second place finishes in Barcelona and Cape Town. One of the most promising and talented young drivers on the circuit, McConnell’s #35 car will be adorned with the famous black, green and gold of Jamaica’s flag.

“I’m so pleased to partner with the Jamaica Tourist Board and thankful for their sponsorship for my upcoming races,” said McConnell. “As a proud Jamaican, it brings me a great sense of pride to work with my home nation and increase interest in the destination within the racing community and among my fans.”
